Ride with Pride

Ride with Pride

Campaign by UCP

I’ve always believed in giving back to society and empowering young girls to reach their full potential. When I first started riding, I didn’t have a structured platform to learn from. I was fortunate to have my brother, who eagerly gave me bike lessons and helped me gain confidence. As I became a more experienced rider, I began participating in projects that focused on improving women’s mobility in Pakistan. One of these meaningful projects was the University of Central Punjab’s “Ride with Pride” campaign.

This campaign focused on enhancing mobility for university students. UCP took a significant step by purchasing 10 scooters and giving them away to female students at no cost. These scooters have made a huge difference, providing students with a convenient and independent way to commute.

And do you want to know what’s even more fun about it all? Each scooter is equipped with a tracking system and a helmet to ensure their safety.

At the end of the campaign, I led a rally of female students on the roads of Lahore. It was an inspiring sight to see these young women embracing their newfound freedom and independence.

The “Ride with Pride” campaign is a shining example of how we can address mobility challenges and empower women to take charge of their lives.
