Birth of Motorcycle Girl

my story

Birth of Motorcycle Girl

When Adnan Sarwar called me on a Tuesday evening saying he wanted to make a film about my life, I thought someone was playing a prank on me. However, that phone call changed not only the course of my life but also made history.

Who would have thought that at the age of 24, someone would make a film about my journey? It was unthinkable, but in 2018, that’s exactly what happened, and I saw my story brought to life on the big screen.

“I am going to name it ‘Motorcycle Girl’,” said Adnan as he confirmed that the film was in its final stages. A few weeks later, my biopic was screened across Pakistan, the USA, the Middle East, and Europe. The movie was not just about my story but also about a father-daughter bond, capturing the essence of what it means to fulfill a dream.

I said yes to the film because I knew it could inspire and motivate young girls all over Pakistan to chase their dreams. And it did just that—sparking a wave of change where countless young women hopped on motorcycles, becoming their own versions of ‘Motorcycle Girl.’

On Wednesday, July 31, the Abbasi Program in Islamic Studies will screen the movie “Motorcycle Girl” as part of the Stanford Global Studies Summer Film Festival.

The amazing Sohai Ali Abro stepped into my shoes as ‘Zenith Irfan.’ Her incredible performance even won her the Lux Style Award  for Best Actress Critic Choice!

What a ride it has been! If you want to watch the film, you can watch it.
